The Omnibus Travel Allowance is for South African companies requiring a travel allowance in excess of the usual limits for private individual travel.

The Omnibus Travel Allowance for companies is R2 Million per calendar year.

This travel allowance can be used by company staff and can only be taken out as foreign currency cash or travellers cheques.

This allowance cannot be transferred directly into an overseas bank account in the name of the traveller.

Exchange4free can assist with opening bank accounts in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Offshore Bank Accounts (held in a wide variety of currencies).

Exchange4free require an original letter on a company letterhead with the following information:

  • Names of travellers and designation within the company
  • The number of proposed trips per person
  • Countries to be visited
  • Amount per person per year
  • Brief motivation explaining the reasons why the company requires the additional travel funds

Authorisation for the Omnibus Travel Allowance will be granted a travel allowance in the name of the company.

If a company requires more than R2 Million per calendar year then a direct application can be made via Exchange4free to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
