There are a number of South African banks throughout South Africa but not all are classified as Authorised Dealers in foreign exchange.

As an authorised dealer the SA bank is entitled to act with the Reserve Bank's authority when dealing with foreign exchange issues and all FX in the country must be transacted through a South Africa bank who is an authorised dealer by the SARB.
