Private individuals formally leaving South Africa may move the following amounts out of the country on their Emigration Allowance:

R2 Million per adult or R4 Million per family unit

You may also take out personal goods up to the value of R1 Million.

The South African Reserve Bank will consider, on application and if clients are emigrating, amounts greater than the above subject to a 10% exit levy.
