Private individuals may utilize the below travel allowances per calendar year:
R750,000 per adult
R160,000 per child
Flights must originate in South Africa and we will require a copy of the flight ticket or e-ticket.
It is possible to call for more funds using your travel allowances even once you have left South Africa and are travelling abroad.
- Exchange4free require our clients to sign a declaration stating that you have not utilised your travel allowance through any other financial institution during the current calendar year.
Exchange4free offer our clients the following options:
- A travel allowance may be transferred directly by wire transfer into an overseas bank account in the name of the traveller (we can also assist clients with opening overseas bank accounts)
or
- We offer travellers cheques and bank drafts although the client will need to go into our authorised dealer bank to collect and sign for these

Please note that the total limit for the Gift and Travel Allowances together is R750,000 per calendar year. This can be split between the two allowances but the sum of both in any calendar year cannot exceed R750,000 in total.
