Private individuals formally emigrating out of South Africa may move the following amounts out of the country:

R4 Million per adult or R8 Million per family unit

You may also take out personal goods up to the value of R1 Million.

The South African Reserve Bank will consider, on application and if clients are emigrating, amounts greater than the above subject to a 10% exit levy.
